Mooring Operations

The operations include;

2. Permanent mooring
3. Chain storage, inspection and maintenance

         Pre lay mooring systems offer a number of benefits for general operations. They usually allow for more accurate control of the tensions seen at the anchor - and important factor to be considered for class authority standards. In addition, the system also offers dramatic time savings when bringing the rig onto location and moving off location, as anchors are installed and recovered off critical path. For permanent moorings, they are often used instead of temporary anchors because they have considerably more holding power, cause less damage to the marine environment, and are convenient. They are also occasionally used to hold floating docks in place. As for the chain storage, SSE has a designated area where chains are kept, inspected and maintained by our line of professionals.
